Cost of doing Nothing
In these tough economic times everybody is looking to save where they can. In our quest to reduce our costs often times we decide to do nothing at all. It seems like sound economic policy because doing nothing cost nothing right….
Let’s say you have a roof leak. It’s not raining right now nor should it for several months if our fair weather holds the same pattern that it normally does. We recognize the problem but will attend to it later. Later turns to forgetting and forgetting turns into oh schnickty do da when the first rain of the season hits the roof.
Now we not only have a roof leak but water damage on the drywall ceiling, potential wood rot and mold issues are now added to the list. The cost of the repair went up because there is a cost factor for doing nothing. And by the way all of your procrastinating neighbors are in the same position because they to put it off the repair. The roofing contractor will now get to you hopefully before the next rain hits. Man oh man, this doing nothing bit can be expensive.
I am not a weatherman nor am I am a rainmaker, I am not a physic or a clairvoyant. But I can tell you this, there is a storm coming. It will sweep across the nation. It's name is higher energy costs. It does not care what side of the global warming issue you are on. It does not care what part of the country you are in. When it blows in some will be prepared others will not.
You can choose not to fix your home and not make it more comfortable and energy efficient. You can do nothing. But remember there is a cost of doing nothing. How much will you pay?
